I just submitted 4 of my recent paintings for jury for the Center for the Arts 26th Annual Members' Exhibition in Bonita Springs, February 6 - 26, 2015. I am keeping my fingers crossed that all of the paintings will be selected for the show.  This is my first show of the year. My goal is to be in at least four major shows/competitions in 2015.

Painting at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park

Tough day at the office today.  Painted a  11 x 14 " tonal / value sketch at the beach.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  I found a nice palm shaded area overlooking the beach. Temp. about 80 deg., with a nice breeze.

Rhino Siesta

I painted this little 8 x 10 oil painting in 2009 from a photo I took at the Knoxville zoo.  Two of the three rhinos were in dappled sunlight.  I used almost pure color, relying on the inherent warmth and coolness, light and dark of the colors themselves, creating some drama with complements. The effect was fairly abstract and striking.  This one sold quickly.
